Insufficient BNB (Smart Chain) to cover network fees

Hi,

I’m trying to transfer USDT BEP20 back to Binance but it won’t allow me and got this error message. Tried to swap to BNB or DEX but still the same. Can anyone please help me? Thanks!

Hello @oxie18,

You need to have BNB BEP20 (Smart Chain - the one with a dark logo) in order to pay for the network fees.

@iamdeadlyz Why won’t it just deduct the BNB fees from my USDT balance?

That’s now how the Binance Smart Chain network works. The network fees rely on the native token, which is Smart Chain BNB. Other types of BEP20 tokens like USDT won’t work as a substitute.
