Lost Access to Beacon Chain (BEP2) Assets?

I had not accessed my TrustWallet app in a while and just noticed the following message for assets on the Beacon Chain (BEP2):

“Beacon Chain will be permanently shut down in August. Please swap any Beacon Chain BEP 2 tokens to Smart Chain BEP20 first, then swap all your Beacon Chain BNB to Smart Chain BNB by tapping the Swap button to avoid asset loss.”

Should I fear that I now have lost access to these assets? Please advice.

Thanks for chiming in, folks.

After spending a fair amount of time struggling (with elevated anxiety) to figure this out, what did end up working for me was this:

  1. Install the TrustWallet Chrome extension
  2. Access your wallet there
  3. Additional UI options appear (vs. available in the mobile App for iOS)
  4. Go to your Beacon Chain assets and use “Migrate” and the correct BSC address to move your assets over from the Beacon Chain, one by one

I hope this will help others in doing the same, and I urge to do this ASAP (going by the timeline and status indicator I found on the BNB Chain Org website).

Question I got that process down but how do I get the BNB BEP2 to cover the gas fee? Im having a hard time all I need is like 0.004 or 0.005 of it to cover the migration process.

The simple (and perhaps unsatisfying) answer could be that - in my case - I still had BNB on Beacon as one of the assets I needed to migrate. So I suspect that allowed for the gas fees to be processed. And completely coincidentally, I migrated my BNB off Beacon last, so that the other assets weren’t impacted by not having BNB available for the gas fees? Note that this is me applying logical thinking, not any clear instructions or explanations I was able to find from either TrustWallet or BNB.
