This might lead to loss of funds

I’m trying to swap USDT for ETH, and prior to finalizing the request a message says “You are sending to a smart contract directly. This might lead to loss of funds.” I’ve tried to find out exactly what this means and I’m worried about trying to approve the swap without knowing the outcome. I’d appreciate help and knowledge from the crowd. Thanks!
