Transactions will not proceed when sending to a Token Contract Address

This article explains a SAFU protection to prevent users from accidentally sending to a Token Contract Address.

Sending crypto is irreversible and there is no way to reverse transactions once it is confirmed on the blockchain. In order to prevent users from sending their funds to a Token Contract address, Trust Wallet development team has added a feature that automatically checks the recipient address against a list of known Token Contract addresses.

For example, here is the token contract address for Tether (USDT).

An error message like the one shown below will appear when attempting to send to a Token Contract address. The transaction will not proceed.

Note:
Currently, this feature is only available for ERC20 tokens.

No worries your funds are SAFU. Please remember to always do your due diligence and double check the destination address before you hit Send.
