How to Register an ENS (.eth) Name |n Trust Wallet

With your .eth domain, receiving cryptocurrency becomes as easy as email. Here’s how to create your own in just a few easy steps!

Instead of having to remember a long string of random letters and numbers, which makes it impossible to give your address to receive cryptocurrency quickly, you now need to send them your .eth name.

For example, I’ve registered platinum1.eth. You can send Ethereum, and other ERC-20 tokens directly to me through this domain.

Below is a guide that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to instantly register a new .ETH name with the official ENS Manager app. By creating an ENS name, any person will be able to send funds to you just by typing your name. The process works a lot like buying a domain for a website, but instead of using your .eth domain to host a website, you use it as an alias to receive cryptocurrency.

Why use Trust Wallet?

Trust Wallet is an easy to use, true multi-chain noncustodial wallet, which allows you to store and manage over 6 million crypto assets including NFTs across 68+ blockchains. No more storing your assets across multiple custody wallets or exchanges! You’ll have peace of mind knowing all your assets are in one safe place.

Your private keys are stored on your device and your assets on-chain meaning you are in full control at all times. Trust Wallet gives you the ability to natively buy, swap and stake your favourite crypto without having to leave the app and also connect to dApps with the in-built DApp browser.

Trust Wallet is used by over 50 million people worldwide!

Step 1: Open your Trust Wallet

Make sure to use the same Multi-Coin Wallet that you’d like to own the name with (though you can set it to resolve to a different wallet, or transfer ownership later). You also need a small amount of ETH in your wallet to pay transaction costs and your name’s first year’s rent.

Step 2: Navigate to the ENS Manager

Go to DApps and tab on “Ethereum Name Service” (or enter https://app.ens.domains/) (Image 1 & 2)

Step 3: Search for your desired .eth name

Search for the .eth name you’d like to own. Type in the name you’d like and tap on ‘Go’. Here, you’ll see I’d like the ‘trustwallet.eth’ ENS name (image 1 & 2).

If the name is already registered by someone else, you see a page with information about the name’s ENS records. For example here (image 1), you’ll see that ‘trustwallet.eth’ is already taken.

Once you’ve found one that’s available, you have to select for how long you like to register the name. I’ve found ‘platinum1.eth’ which is available, so I’ll proceed with this name.

Step 4: Select period

Use the “-” and “+” buttons to select for how many years you’d like to pay rent initially (image 1) (You have to rent it for at least one year). You can always choose to extend your registration period at a different time in the future.

Step 5: Start the registration process

Tap on “Request To Register” at the bottom of the page.

Step 6: Wait :watch:

Do not close your browser during this process! First, your transaction must be confirmed (Should take less than one minute). The green registration bar will start moving up (image 1).

Step 7: Finish registration

Once the bar has reached to step 2, tap on the blue button that says, “Register” (image 1). A smart contract should appear, asking you to confirm the transaction. Tap on “Confirm” (image 2).

Step 8: Set your new .eth name as your primary ENS name

Select your .eth name in the dropdown menu (image 1), and tap on “save”. One more smart contract call will appear, which you’ll have to confirm again. After the smart contract call has been executed, you’ll see the that now your chosen ENS name is your primary one!

As the proud owner of a new .eth name, make sure your friends download Trust Wallet and register their own. That way, you can send Ethereum, and all of the Ethereum ERC20 based tokens (like SHIB, USDT and LINK) to “platinum1.eth” instead of using a hex address “0x9d8…” (OH YEAH)!

You can also view your ENS .eth name in the Trust Wallet NFT page!

Just head to the NFT tab to check it out
