In which category are you trying to add a new topic?
We aren’t allowed to post in all categories. Try, Discussion category, You will get an option to add a new topic.

I just received a message from the system that I’ve been promoted to trust level and the ‘new topic’ option is now available.

You need to achieve trust level to see new topic button.
Just interact with other topics (comments, like etc), you will be promoted to the trust level automatically.

Ahhhh I see. I didn’t see this explained anywhere? They should be very clear on how to specifically post a new topic.

I need to create a post but the “new post” button doesn’t show. Do I have to go around liking posts to get the button? This is awful. I’m having a big problem on the app and now can’t get any help. If anyone can please tell me how to get in touch with support I will be so grateful. Thank you!!

You cannot get the New Topic button instantly after signing up. You need to achieve trust level to see new topic button.
