I am having a serious problem with my Trust Wallet. I try to open it, and it prompts me to enter a password. But my password is in this format:
###-###-###-###-###
…while the password prompt only has 6 characters! I am stuck!
@milosisforlovers If you can’t remember your password and you have your seed phrase.
It’s best to the delete the app, reinstall and then import your seed phrase to access your wallet.
I do remember my password. In fact, I’ve written it down. However, the app prompts me for a 6-character password while mine is a lot more characters!
I am not familiar with what a seed phrase is. I’m afraid that even if I delete the app and try again, then:
- it won’t accept my email address because it will already be “in use”
- it will prompt me again for a 6-character password, while mine is a lot more characters.
@milosisforlovers Trust wallet doesn’t require your email to create a wallet.
Seed phrase is the 12 words you got when you must have opened the wallet the first time, that is what you use to access your wallet.
My guess is you have this all confused.
Of course ny email address was required. In addition, there was no such thing as a seed phrase anywhere.

Trust wallet is decentralized meaning you have total control over your wallet.

@queens212 There’s no way to access a watch only wallet except you own the seed phrase to the wallet.

@Armed There is no support here; The best way to get support is to submit a ticket from your Trust wallet app.
Before opening a ticket, ensure you have tried troubleshooting the issue yourself first, you can use the chatbot in your settings for common troubleshooting
Settings → Support
Then if you still have the error, open a ticket
To reduce response times from customer support, please include the following info in the ticket:
App version, device model, wallet address, TX hash (if available), and the blockchain + assets you’re experiencing the issue with, and any relevant screenshots or videos to duplicate the error.

What happens when you can’t see your seed words? It says copied but they are not words.
@fedup You are probably referring to your private key.
A private key contains 64 alphanumeric characters.
And how is this different from the phrases? How do I use that to open / copy it in another location?
@fedup Your private key works same as your seed phrase to import your tokens.
Only difference is seed phrase imports a multi coin wallet which means you have basically all tokens under that (BTC, ETH, LTC, ERC tokens, BEP20 tokens, etc.) while private key imports just for a particular chain so your private key for BTC may be different from the private key for ETH and likewise for any other token on another chain.
I’ve my Google drive backup with the password but still yet it’s saying wrong password.
