Trust Wallet Adds Integration With WalletConnect V2 To Expand dApp Functionality
We are very excited to announce that we are expanding our integrations to include WalletConnect V2, allowing users to connect to EVM and also non-EVM chains supported by Trust Wallet like Solana, Cosmos, Polkadot, and many others. This innovative integration exceptionally improves interoperability enabling users to connect to hundreds of dApps built on different blockchains while providing a much faster and secure web3 experience.
How does this benefit Trust Wallet users?
Not only does this Wallet Connect update provide users with chain-agnostic functionality, you can now connect your wallets to dApps, on multiple chains at once, simultaneously. This means users are no longer limited to having their Trust Wallet connected to one dApp at a time providing them with the ability to interact with multiple dApps on different chains simultaneously.
Integrating WalletConnect V2 will introduce improved permissions and session management features allowing for a much user-friendly and secure experience when connecting to dApps. For example, enhanced pairing sessions enable users to connect to dApps without having to scan a QR code or deep link every time they want to connect to a new dApp from their wallet. Additionally, enhanced session management features provide the ability for wallet sessions to automatically expire as opposed to connecting your wallet to dApps indefinitely.
This is a very new and innovative integration, which currently covers EVM chains, as well as Cosmos in Trust Wallet. We will integrate further chains while working closely with Wallet Connect, when further dApps upgrade to this Wallet Connect v2 protocol and we can test.
