What is Cronos?
Cronos is a network built on Ethermint, an EVM compatible, open-source blockchain framework with high throughput which interoperates with Ethereum and Cosmos.
It aims to scale the Web3 user community by providing builders with the ability to port apps and crypto assets from other chains with low cost, high throughput, and fast finality at a lower cost compared to Ethereum.
The Cronos platform utilizes its native token CRO, for the following:
- Payment method in the Cronos ecosystem
- Transaction fees on the network
- DeFi services
